Michal Križánek has earned his status as the best bodybuilder in the IFBB Elite Pro. Now the NPC/Pro League loyalists want him to make the switch.
Michal Križánek is one of the most humble bodybuilders in the sport today, the very quiet, gentle giant, and has become one of the most talked-about bodybuilders in the sport.
Establishing himself as the best bodybuilder in the IFBB Elite Pro, the pro division created by the IFBB after they ended their relationship with the NPC and Jim Manion in 2017. In the past year, a number of NPC/Pro League athletes and media have been begging him to make the switch.
Big changes took place in the bodybuilding industry after the split. The NPC (Jim Manion) took control of all the NPC amateur events and the majority of Pro League events, including the Olympia Weekend, while the IFBB (Rafael Santonja) remained in control of the prestigious events created by Joe and Ben Weider.
The prestigious and historic competitions such as the IFBB European Amateur Championships and IFBB World Amateur Championships remained with the IFBB, under the watchful eye of IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja.
The majority of bodybuilders, especially the athletes living in the USA, remained with the NPC/Pro League, with the ultimate goal to qualify for the Olympia Weekend.
On the other side of the fence, “the IFBB had to create a new pro league for their top athletes, and it was immediately created at the end of 2017, under the name IFBB Elite Pro. The ultimate goal for the IFBB Elite Pro athlete is to win the IFBB Elite Pro World Championship, in their respective divisions”.
The IFBB Elite Pro is still a very new federation, and it has now started to gain respect from the bodybuilding world after just four years since its creation. A number of IFBB Elite Pro champions are being talked about on a number of media outlets.
Many athletes have switched between both the IFBB and NPC since the split, but now, a number of athletes have established themselves as the face of their desired federation.
Everybody Wants To See Michal Križánek On The NPC/Pro League Stage
Michal Križánek cannot compete at the Mr. Olympia, the Arnold Classic USA, or any other NPC/Pro League event. In order for Michal to compete with the NPC/Pro League, he has to leave the IFBB Elite Pro, which means an automatic suspension and losing his pro status. The same rules apply to pro athletes leaving the NPC/Pro League for the IFBB Elite Pro.
Michal has a fantastic physique, regardless of what some NPC loyalists say, he has what it takes to go head to head with some of the best bodybuilders within the NPC/Pro League, or even the current Mr. Olympia line-up.
Michal has the perfect combination of size and definition with great aesthetics to compete against the best in the world, regardless of the federation. Plus, Michal is well known for his fantastic arm development.
After winning a number of IFBB Elite Pro World Championships and being unbeaten at the Arnold Classic Europe since the IFBB Elite Pro took over in 2017, Michal has been talked about all over social media and a number of media websites.
Websites loyal to Jim Manion and the NPC/Pro League, allegedly, will not talk about Michal due to the fact that they cannot report about any federation or athletes other than Jim Manion’s NPC/Pro League. Unfortunately, this is how things are allegedly run by the Manion’s. internationalfitnessbodybuildingnewsfeed.org knows this firsthand as the message was passed on to this site after the split in 2017. But internationalfitnessbodybuildingnewsfeed.org kept focused on its path to cover all federations.
Why Should Michal Come To The NPC/Pro League? Challenge Him On His Own Turf… The IFBB Elite Pro.
NPC/Pro League athletes, media, and fans are all begging Michal to switch over to the NPC/Pro League.
As mentioned in the beginning of this article, for Michal to make the big switch, it means he will lose everything he worked so hard for within the IFBB and IFBB Elite Pro.
It is easy for the NPC/Pro League athletes and supporters to tell Michal to make the switch, as they are staying in their comfort zone.
internationalfitnessbodybuildingnewsfeed.org believes that instead of Michal switching over to the NPC/Pro League, the athletes calling him out, should make the switch themselves.
How would some of the NPC/Pro League’s best bodybuilders, feel if they had to relinquish their pro status and all they worked so hard for, to switch to the IFBB Elite Pro? Most probably, not so great.
Michal is the one who is in demand and his challengers should come to him. It’s that simple.
If the NPC/Pro League or the Mr. Olympia line-up feel they are better than him, they should travel to Europe and challenge him. But first, they have to swallow their ego and compete on the amateur circuit and earn their IFBB Elite Pro card.
You Want Michal Križánek? Pay up
In every other sport such as boxing or the MMA, if an athlete or promoter wants to challenge somebody, they offer a very good financial award.
The NPC/Pro League organizers and owners know very well that Michal Križánek is a money maker and will attract crowds and popularity.
Imagine Michal, Big Ramy, William Bonac, Sergio Oliva Jr., Nick Walker, and other champions on the same stage. This would be the ultimate contest, IFBB Elite Pro’s champion against the best of the NPC/Pro League.
A lot of pressure is being put on Michal to make the switch, but until publishing this article, he is very happy competing with the IFBB Elite Pro.

What about a financial incentive for Michal?
Michal will easily earn his NPC/Pro League status in Europe, but to compete at the big events, he would need to travel to the USA.
For Michal to compete at the NPC/Pro League’s major events, he and his coach would have to spend a lot of money on travel and hotels traveling to the USA. Popular events, such as the New York Pro, Arnold Classic USA, Tampa pro, and Chicago Pro are all located in the USA.
The NPC/Pro League organize a number of Pro events in Europe, but the biggest stars that want to challenge Michal do not make the trip to Europe, they want to stay in their comfort zone, in the USA.
If Jim Manion wants to have the best bodybuilders in the world, why don’t the NPC/Pro League offer Michal a nice incentive to bring him over?
It does not have to be a bodybuilding promoter, a fan of bodybuilding that is financially capable to lure Michal over could offer the money.
internationalfitnessbodybuildingnewsfeed.org believes that Michal can go up against the best in the world. He has what it takes and he can still improve. But, to just drop everything to satisfy the critics, does not make sense, he must be awarded.
The IFBB Elite Pro is only getting better
The IFBB Elite Pro is only four years old. It cannot be compared to the NPC/Pro League yet.
Before 2017, the IFBB amateur athletes, earned their pro status, either at the numerous IFBB Diamond Cup competitions, Amateur Olympia’s, IFBB European or World Amateur Championships. After earning their pro card, the athletes would go on to compete with the Pro League.
This all changed after 2017, to compete with the Pro League, the amateur can only be recognized by the NPC.
That is why the IFBB Elite Pro was created in 2017. IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja and his Executive committee were not just going to sit around and see all of their best amateurs leave their federation. They immediately had the structure in place to start the IFBB Elite Pro.
IFBB athletes, the majority living in Europe and neighboring countries all over the world, now have the opportunity to compete as professionals at contests, not far from their homes.
In the meantime, the NPC created the NPC Worldwide, offering NPC/Pro League cards to European and international athletes. The NPC Worldwide is gaining momentum, but the majority of athletes earning their pro status, never compete as pro’s.
Getting back to the IFBB Elite Pro, compared to the NPC Worldwide, the athletes that do turn pro under the IFBB, go on to compete within the IFBB Elite Pro.
As the IFBB Elite Pro started to gain more popularity, more competitions were being created, in return giving the athletes more opportunities to compete on the IFBB Elite Pro circuit.
The IFBB Elite Pro was always labelled as a joke by the NPC/Pro League’s loyalists, but when a number of athletes such as Michal Križánek, Mika Sihvonen, Vitaliy Ugolnikov and numerous other athletes started to make a name for themselves… the jokes started to stop.
Indirectly, through NPC/Pro League media, many are trying to convince these athletes that the grass is greener on the other side.
Again, it cannot be denied that the NPC/Pro League is still on another level. internationalfitnessbodybuildingnewsfeed.org covers the NPC/Pro League extensively, but the IFBB Elite Pro gaining momentum quickly.
If the IFBB Elite Pro was so bad, why are some of Europe’s best bodybuilders competing with them?
Many boast that the NPC/Pro League offer more prize money to their athletes. This is true, but the biggest financial awards are only available at one or two events, such as the Arnold Classic USA and the Olympia Weekend. The IFBB Elite Pro are on par with the NPC/Pro League at the majority of other competitions, in regards to prize money.
The IFBB was the backbone of the now NPC/Pro League
Many forget to realize, the IFBB was the machine behind the Pro League before the split. It was the IFBB that built the Pro League before the split in 2017.
It was not just Joe and Ben Weider that built the Pro League, but many people fail to give credit to Wayne DeMilia.
Wayne promoted the Mr. Olympia contest between 1984 and 2003. The Olympia weekend was not the only contest Wayne was involved in, he practically took charge of every contest related to the Pro League or Pro Division during his reign.
DeMilia actually started to get involved in the sport of bodybuilding in 1975 when he met the Weiders.
Things were different back then under DeMilia’s reign. The majority of Olympia events were organized in the USA, but he also organized the show in other parts of the world, such as Brussels, Sweden, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and Finland.
Wayne also organized the Grand Prix tour all over Europe and other parts of the world immediately after the Olympia Weekend was over. He would take all the top stars, all over the world for the very popular tour, that is still talked about today.
In the 1980’s, Jim Manion was in-charge of the NPC, the American affiliate to the IFBB. The NPC only organized events in the USA, with the IFBB having hundreds of affiliated countries all over the world. They are still affiliated with the IFBB today.
In 2004, AMI purchased half of the Olympia brand and Jim Manion continued to run the NPC, which he owned, and he also took control of the Pro Division.
After the split in 2017, Jim Manion took over the NPC and the Pro League, while Dr. Rafael Santonja continued to do the work passed on to him in 2006 by Ben Weider, when he was voted President of the IFBB, a position he still holds today.
Whatever his decision, the future looks great for Michal, and his destiny is in his own hands. Wherever he ends up, will be a success.
IFBB Elite Pro IFBB Elite Pro is the pro division affiliated with the IFBB. A separate entity that gives the opportunity to IFBB amateur athletes that have earned their pro status to compete at the highest level.
