IFBB Pro Derek Lunsford Dethroned Hadi Choopan And Wins “2023 Mr. Olympia Title” — “The First Ever Two-Division Olympia Champion”

The 2023 Mr. Olympia show returned to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando November 2nd – 5th for the third time in four years. The event took place in Las Vegas last year but returned East where Big Ramy won two in a row in 2020 and 2021. IFBNewsfeed.Org™ was on the ground floor providing coverage for the full Olympia weekend.

We have updated our coverage on this page throughout the weekend – reporting on division winners, full scorecards, and any breaking news.

“The Friday night prejudging round of the 59th Mr. Olympia contest concluded with the final callout of defending champion Hadi Choopan, Arnold Classic winner Samson Dauda, and 2021 Olympia 212 winner Derek Lunsford taking turns in the center of the group”.

This year, Big Ramy did not compete after a series of low placings and struggles during the 2023 season. However, Hadi Choopan took the stage to defend his title against Derek Lunsford. Derek Lunsford won the 2023 Mr. Olympia and now has become the first bodybuilder to ever win an Olympia title in two different divisions. This year, Hadi Choopan, placed second. Samson Dauda placed third.

After finished third last year at the 2022 Mr. Olympia, “Nick Walker announced he will be out of the 2023 Mr. Olympia this year with a torn hamstring”. Walker finished runner up to Samson Dauda during the 2023 Arnold Classic.

The 2023 Olympia wrapped up on Saturday night. Below, you can find the full list of winners and scorecards at the 2023 Olympia, along with breakdowns of each division. IFBNewsfeed.Org™ will update this article over the course of the weekend with results as they come in.

Now, the best Men’s Open bodybuilders in the world were back to determine who would hold up the Sandow Trophy in the main event of the Olympia in Orlando, FL. Steve Weinberger kicked the evening off with the confirmation round. Derek Lunsford was crowned the new Mr. Olympia, becoming the first-ever two-time Olympia division champion and the 18th Mr. Olympia.
